Alfonso Torrego obtained his MD at the School of Medicine from University of Barcelona (Spain). He is Board Certificate in Pneumology since 2000 after 4y training at Hospital ClĂ­nic, University of Barcelona with the Prize Final of Residency. He completed a 3-year Clinical Research Fellow at Thoracic Medicine, Royal Brompton Hospital and Imperial College in London. UK

He started working as a Staff member of the Pneumology Department at Hospital Clinic in Barcelona in 2002.  Now is Head at the Interventional Pulmonology Unit at the Respiratory Department at the Santa Creu i Sant Pau Hospital in Barcelona, Senior Consultant, Pneumology registrar’s form Tutor and Associate Professor of Medicine. At the Medicine Department, University Autonoma of Barcelona.

He is member of several groups and societies, Spanish Thoracic Society, European Respiratory Society, Catalan Chest Physicians Society among other. He is the coordinator of bronchoscopy catalan group, Former President of the Scientific Committee at the Spanish Respiratory Society and Former President of the Medical Association at the Hospital Santa Creu i Sant Pau.

He has received several awards during his career, as an example the Spanish Respiratory Investigator 2005 from the Spanish Respiratory Society.

He is Associate editor of the Spanish journal of asthma and The cough journal, and has made collaborations as Journal Reviewer at The Lancet, Thorax, Archivos de Bronconeumologia, Chest. Am Journal Respir Crit Care Med, Respirology, Resp Medicine.

He has more than 60 original articles published in PubMed.
