Andrés Redondo, MD, PhD

Andrés Redondo was graduated in Medicine from the Autónoma University of Madrid in 1997, and subsequently trained in Medical Oncology at La Paz University Hospital, in Madrid, Spain, from 1998 to 2002. During part of 2002, he attended as an observer at Instituto Valenciano de Oncología (IVO), focused on gynecologic cancers with Dr Andrés Poveda.

He obtained his PhD in 2005, with an Extraordinary PhD Award. He completed various advanced programs: Master in Palliative Medicine, Autónoma University of Madrid (2003), Healthcare Leadership Program, IE Business School Executive Education (2013), University Program in Evaluation of Health Technologies, Barcelona School of Management, Pompeu Fabra University (2016) and University Program in Clinical Management in Oncology, Barcelona School of Management, Pompeu Fabra University (2019).

Dr Redondo joined to the staff of the Department of Medical Oncology of La Paz University Hospital in September 2002. In addition, from 2012 he is Associate Professor of Medicine Department (Oncology) of the Autónoma University of Madrid.

He is specialized in the treatment of gynecologic cancers and sarcomas. Currently, he is the Secretary and member of the Executive Board of the Spanish Group of Ovarian Cancer Research (GEICO). He has been involved as investigator in more than 70 clinical trials in gynecologic tumors, breast cancer and sarcomas, and he has more than 60 publications in international journals (some of them in very prestigious journals such as N Engl J Cancer, Lancet Oncol, JAMA Oncol or J Clin Oncol).
